COMUNICATO STAMPA → Dal 14 dicembre 2023 al 1° aprile 2024 è visitabile a Napoli, la Mostra di Mario Amura curata da Sylvain Bellenger, Direttore del Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte a Napoli, dal titolo Napoli Explosion, allestita nella Sala del Cellaio presso il Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte e con musiche originali di Louis Siciliano, Edizioni musicali Magic&Unique Music Publishing prodotto da Magic&Unique Group LTD. Napoli Explosion è una Mostra dove tutto è originale, dove l’Arte pirotecnica, la Fotografia, la Pittura, la Scenografia e la Musica convergono in un solo e unico evento. È il regalo di Natale e Capodanno che il Museo di Capodimonte dona a Napoli. Poche Città al mondo possono essere identificate con un elemento della natura come Napoli è completamente identificata con il Vesuvio. La Città stessa è una sorta di Anfiteatro costruito attorno al maestoso vulcano. La Mostra presenta 37 Opere di grandi dimensioni del Fotografo e Visual Artist Mario Amura che, da oltre 12 anni, immortala in veri e propri dipinti fotografici la festa di fuochi d’artificio che il popolo napoletano inscena attorno al Vesuvio nella notte di Capodanno. Le Opere, fotografie che non hanno subito alcuna manipolazione grafica, saranno ospitate nella Sala Cellaio del Real Bosco che per l’occasione è stata completamente isolata dalla luce naturale ed immersa in una luce rossa che ricorda il rosso della camera magmatica del vulcano e l’atmosfera luminosa della camera oscura in cui un tempo si sviluppavano le fotografie in pellicola. Il progetto di allestimento è firmato dall’Architetto Lucio Turchetta. “I napoletani, la notte di Capodanno, esorcizzano la paura che il vulcano erutti, facendo esplodere tutto il Golfo di Napoli di luce e colori” dice Mario Amura: “Ogni anno, il 31 dicembre, salgo con una troupe formata da alcuni dei miei amici più cari sul Monte Faito, la montagna che si staglia sul Golfo di Napoli avendo di fronte il Vesuvio. Da lì catturiamo questa sorta di esorcismo contro le forze inumane del vulcano, del destino. Il risultato, pur essendo, di fatto, un’Opera di reportage fotografico è straordinariamente pittorico: i fuochi d’artificio diventano nebulose, animali, paesaggi stellari. “Nelle fotografie di Amura viene sovvertito l’immaginario iconografico del simbolo di Napoli: mentre il Vesuvio delle gouaches e dei capolavori di William Turner, William Marlow, Jacques Volaire, Andy Warhol è colorato della lava che lo inonda in Napoli Explosion, al contrario, il Vesuvio appare come un’ombra silenziosa sommersa dall’esplosione dei fuochi dei festeggiamenti di Capodanno. “Napoli Explosion è un’opera autobiografica, un inno di Napoli a sé stessa”. “L’aspetto di Napoli Explosion che colpisce di più è la sua coralità” dice lo Storico dell’Arte Professore Salvatore Settis, Presidente del Comitato Scientifico del Louvre “Durante la notte del passaggio al nuovo anno, la città di Napoli è popolata da migliaia, decine di migliaia, forse centinaia di migliaia di persone che fanno esplodere o vedono esplodere questi fuochi di artificio e non sanno che stanno contribuendo a un’Opera pittorica”. Nel lunghissimo processo creativo l’Artista si è poi spinto oltre la rappresentazione della realtà, alla ricerca di nuove frontiere o nuove affinità tra Fotografia e Pittura. “Nel tempo, Napoli Explosion è divenuto un Progetto alla ricerca del sentimento della luce” dice Mario Amura. “Bisogna guardare a lungo queste immagini, immergersi in esse. Il grande pericolo è che accechino. Sono così ricche, così brillanti, che è un po’ come fissare con gli occhi il Sole”. Dice il Curatore della Mostra Sylvain Bellenger, Direttore Generale del Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte: “La grande rivoluzione culturale del nostro tempo è collegata all’evoluzione della tecnologia. La digitalizzazione sta trasformando la nostra memoria, il nostro modo di pensare, il nostro modo di organizzare il linguaggio. Napoli Explosion nasce nell’era dell’immagine digitale, ed è il nuovo millennio che celebra con dei fuochi d’artificio che potrebbero essere inventati, e che invece vengono fotografati. E la cosa che più mi colpisce è che è l’Arte più antica di cattura tecnica della realtà, la Fotografia appunto, a dimostrarsi la più immaginifica. “L’ingresso alla Mostra è libero tutti i giorni, tranne il mercoledì, dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 16.00, ultimo accesso alle ore 15.30.

MARIO AMURA cenni biografici 

 

 

Mario Amura nasce a Napoli nel 1973. Il suo percorso di formazione ha inizio presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia dove segue le lezioni del maestro Giuseppe Rotunno. Dal 2000 al 2012 cura la fotografia di varie opere cinematografiche presentate nei più prestigiosi Festival internazionali: Cannes, la Berlinale, la Biennale di Venezia. Nel 2003 riceve il premio dell’Accademia del Cinema Italiano David di Donatello con il cortometraggio Racconto di Guerra ambientato nella Sarajevo sotto assedio del 1996. Dal 2005 lavora al progetto StopEmotion, con cui inizia la sua ricerca fotografica finalizzata alla frammentazione della linearità del tempo cronologico in picchi emozionali. Il Tempo ne esce purificato, smette di essere una misura, diviene un oggetto concreto la cui essenza è la visibilità delle emozioni. Con la tecnica dello StopEmotion raccoglie materiale fotografico in Bosnia, in India e nella Cina rurale, in Cambogia, nello Sri Lanka, in America Latina, in Inghilterra, in Francia. I suoi progetti di reportage fotografico sono contraddistinti dalla necessità di maturare attraverso lunghissimi archi temporali.

… Mario ha un segreto. Ogni volta che fotografa, diventa invisibile. È in grado di scattare centinaia di foto e rimanere completamente inosservato, come un manifesto su un muro o un lampione all’angolo di una strada. Non ho mai capito come ci riesca, ma forse è proprio questa la chiave del fare arte: essere invisibili eppure allo stesso tempo esserci indiscutibilmente, comprimere la propria presenza e la propria voce per permettere al mondo che ci circonda di decomprimersi, di espandersi, di esprimersi. Mario Amura nasce a Napoli e vive prima a Potenza e poi a Torre Annunziata alle pendici del Vesuvio a Torre Annunziata. La finestra della sua camera da letto affaccia sul vulcano che diviene una presenza costante con la quale stabilisce un profondo legame.

2005

Mario Amura assiste all’esplosione dei fuochi di Capodanno dalla cresta alta del Vesuvio e intuisce che potrebbe esistere un legame tra il rito dei botti e i fuochi di Capodanno e la presenza di uno dei vulcani attivi piu’ pericolosi al mondo. È come se i vesuviani esorcizzassero la paura di un’eruzione attraverso questo rituale scaramantico.

2006

Mario Amura assiste ai festeggiamenti di Capodanno dalla cima del Faito la montagna che si staglia sul Golfo di Napoli di fronte al Vesuvio.

In quella notte, da quella prospettiva, lo scenario che gli si apre dinanzi pareva sovvertire l’iconografia classica delle gouaches o dei capolavori di William Turner, William Marlow, Jacques Volaire, Andy Warhol: il vulcano in eruzione colorato dalla lava che lo inonda. Il Vesuvio gli appare come un’ombra silenziosa, immersa in un paesaggio che pareva esplodergli attorno.

2010-2023

Dal 2010 Amura trascorre tutti i Capodanni fotografando dal Faito l’esplosione dei fuochi nel Golfo di Napoli e che circondano il Vesuvio. Lo accompagnano i suoi più cari amici che diventano la Troupe di Napoli Explosion, Claudia Ascione, Serenella Iovino, Serafino Murri, Maurizio Valsania e Christian Arpaia. I risultati sono tenuti segreti in attesa che il Progetto si ritenga completato.

2023

Il Direttore del Museo e Real Bosco di Capodimonte Sylvain Bellenger viene a conoscenza del Progetto e decide di promuovere l’allestimento della Mostra “Napoli Explosion” nella Sala del Cellaio presso il Museo di Capodimonte.
