COMUNICATO STAMPA → La Compagnia Artemide Verde presenta al Teatro Anfitrione di Roma in Via di San Saba, 24 dal 31 gennaio al 4 febbraio 2024 lo spettacolo Caravaggio Opera Pop scritto e diretto da Giancarlo Gori con musiche originali del Maestro Pietro Alegiani. Per l’occasione verrà realizzato un video con la regia di Margot Ruggiero. Caravaggio Opera Pop è la storia di un grande Artista, dalle incredibili capacità ma dal carattere impulsivo e iracondo, che lo fece divenire un omicida. Le composizioni si trasfigurano e si ammorbidiscono durante la rappresentazione in una fusione di connessioni di forze che ricevono il carattere, l’essenza, l’impronta e la potenza d’impressione in osmosi con l’Artista. Lo spettacolo è una commedia e musica dal vivo, celebra le vicende che portarono Caravaggio a diventare il più grande Artista del suo tempo. Uno spettacolo interattivo, multimediale, accompagnato dall’animazione virtuale di alcune Opere del Caravaggio. In una turbolenta Roma dell’inizio del 1600, affollata di Artisti, Letterati e Cardinali ma anche di prostitute, ruffiani e ladri, facciamo la conoscenza dell’Artista che cerca di farsi luce e di emergere con le sue Opere in un ambiente ricco di insidie. È un passaggio epocale, in una Roma dove soggiornano sullo sfondo le vicende di Giordano Bruno e di Beatrice Cenci, dei giorni cupi dell’Inquisizione, che trascende dalla strada al carcere, finanche all’interno dello studio del Caravaggio, secondo uno schema originale, trascinando il pubblico in una dimensione manierista e di magico realismo, instaurando uno schema originale e coinvolgente. Il linguaggio si sviluppa con stile distinto e accordato facendo emergere l’animo del Caravaggio, le sue gioie, i suoi tormenti e la sua maestosa ricchezza di amare e sognare. La Musica dal vivo e la messa in scena di Opere del Caravaggio, lusingato dalle canzoni e dalla prosa, immergono lo spettatore in una turbolenta e inquisitoria Roma dell’inizio del 1600. Caravaggio Opera Pop è ambientata in questa atmosfera. Caravaggio viene fatto liberare dal carcere di Tor di Nona dal suo protettore, Francesco Maria Bourbon del Monte Santa Maria, meglio conosciuto come il Cardinal del Monte, vescovo, cardinale e diplomatico italiano presso la Santa Sede, suo committente e collezionista d’Arte, nonché protettore di Galileo Galilei. L’Artista chiede al Cardinale di realizzare alcune grandi tele da disporre nelle Chiese. Il Cardinale gli promette che lo aiuterà ad avere la committenza di due quadri da aggiungere nella Chiesa di San Luigi dei Francesi in Roma. Ma, geloso del suo successo, Giuseppe Cesari, detto il Cavalier d’Arpino, pittore italiano dell’epoca barocca, noto nell’ambiente artistico vaticano per la sua creatività, lo ostacola, osando pagare due malviventi per distruggere le sue Opere. Caravaggio difende la sua Arte e il suo amore per Lena, una ex cortigiana protetta da Ranuccio Tomassoni. L’avversione prende il sopravvento e Ranuccio, dopo una partita a pallacorda, accusa Caravaggio di aver rubato punti e di giocare in modo scorretto. Il duello è inevitabile. Caravaggio uccide Ranuccio e, condannato a morte, deve allontanarsi da Roma per evitare la pena capitale, tramite decapitazione, e fugge alla volta di Napoli … Uno spettacolo interattivo, multimediale, accompagnato dall’animazione virtuale di Opere del Caravaggio dove tutto prende forma plastica, viva di magico dinamismo. Otto gli Attori in scena, ventidue le canzoni eseguite dal vivo in novanta minuti di Spettacolo
